Our Story

The Hands of an Angel is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that was created in honor of Taniya I. McCoy; the daughter of Founders, Miren R. McCoy III and Shoniece McCoy.

In November 2009, Taniya passed very suddenly from the Flu. Miren and Shoniece created The Hands of an Angel to keep her memory alive. They focused on healthy hygiene efforts including but not limited to daycare, school, and homeless shelter visits. These visits were dedicated to the outpour and promotion of proper handwashing techniques, and respiratory hygiene habits (covering a sneeze or cough properly).

The main goal of the Founders was to have the ability to prevent even one parent from experiencing what they had to experience: the loss of a child due to the Flu or flu-like illnesses.

Since establishing The Hands of an Angel in 2011, the team and mission have grown tremendously. With the direction of the Founders and the Board of Directors, the mission is now committed to community building. The objective is to uplift communities by uplifting the people in it.
